Planka:
A new addition to Macter’s product
portfolio
Karachi:
Planka—an iron
polymaltose complex syrup—was launched
as a new brand of Macter International by its
business unit, ‘Eagle’. Two launching
ceremonies were held in Karachi and Islamabad
and were attended by the members of the Eagle
sales team, South and North regions respectively.
Planka is a novel therapy for iron deficiency
anaemia. It increases haemoglobin more than conventional
haematinics with better GI safety profile and
protects from undesirable effects of conventional
iron therapies. It keeps haemoglobin levels higher
than iron protein succinylate and has a longer
lasting effect than traditional haematinics.
Speaking on the occasion of Planka’s launch
in Karachi Macter’s head of commercial
Haroon Ahmed Malik reiterated the organization’s
commitment towards pharmaceutical excellence
which has earned it the position of country’s
largest toll manufacturers for a number of multinational
pharmaceutical companies in addition to its own
vast portfolio of quality drugs.
Dr Khalil Mukaddam, head of marketing, congratulated
the Eagle team on the launch of Planka and urged
the sales team to strive to their best to achieve
Macter’s objectives to create an ethical
healthcare services environment to the benefit
of the patients and society. The launching ceremonies
in Karachi and Islamabad were followed by sales
training sessions on the
product, which were conducted by product manager
Faheem Ahmed and assistant product manager Fouzia
Shahnaz.
