Macter
collaborates with PHL for awareness campaign
against hypertension
Abbottabad:
Pakistan Hypertension League (PHL), Abbottabad
in collaboration with Macter
International has kicked off an “Awareness
Campaign on Hypertension, its Management and
Complications”.
A free medical camp in Ayub Teaching Hospital
(ATH) was organized in this connection on 23
August 2007 under the supervision of Professor
Waqar Ahmed Mufti, Head of Cardiology, (ATH)
and Chapter Coordinator of PHL, Abbottabad.
The free medical camp was visited by more than
150 patients who were provided with the following
medical services:
Measurement of blood pressure.
Micro albumen urea test
Glucose test
Cholesterol test
Free medicine for deserving patients

An information brochure was also distributed
on the occasion to raise awareness about
obesity and its adverse effects on human
health.
A three-member team of cardiologists comprising
Assistant Professor Shakeel Ahmed, Dr Altaf
Ahmed and Dr Muhammad Ali provided free consultancy
to patients during the camp. Professor Zia-ur-Rehman,
Chief Executive, AMC, Dr Sajiad-ur-Rehman,
Medical Superintendent, ATH, and members of
PHL Professor Aziz-un-Nisa and Assistant Professor
Mehr-un-Nisa were also present on the occasion.
Professor Waqar Ahmed Mufti has thanked Macter
International for its support in arranging
the free medical camp and has hoped that PHL
and Macter will go a long way together in fighting
hypertension and obesity for the welfare of
the patients and society.
