"Words
that Heal": Two more successful
workshops held on effective doctor-patient
communication skills
Karachi:
Macter International’s
workshop series on effective doctor-patient communication
skills under its CPE programme, titled “Words
that Heal”, is on full swing after its
launch in February as two more workshops were
organized in April and May.
The first workshop was held on 21 April and was
hosted by Macter International’s business
unit “Harrier”. Forty-seven doctors
participated in the workshop.
Macter’s business unit Hawk hosted another
workshop on 03 May, which was attended by 28
GPs and consultants.
Conducted by Dr Ayesha Rauf—an experienced
communication skills trainer who has also worked
with AKU for its faculty development programme—the
workshop series is aimed at emphasizing the significance
of effective doctor-patient communication skills.
The experiential learning sessions in the workshop
comprise role play activities, involving two
professional actors—performing as a female
patient and her son—which are thoroughly
enjoyed and appreciated by the participants.
