Macter's Medical Director addresses World Health
Care Congress in Washington, USA
Washington: Less than 10 miles
south of Capitol Hill, hundreds of health-care
leaders gathered at the most prestigious annual
conference discussing issues affecting health
care globally.
Representatives from health
insurers, information technology companies,
nonprofit organizations, hospitals and
businesses shopping for new ways to deliver
health services met at the 7th Annual World
Health Care Congress in suburban Maryland.
Dr Zakiuddin Ahmed, eHealth
expert & Medical Director of Macter
International - an innovative pharmaceutical
company of Pakistan - was invited to address the
World Health Care Congress. He presented his
case studies of various innovative projects in
eHealth that catered solutions to the prevailing
healthcare problems in Pakistan.
Nobel Laureate, Dr Muhammad Yunus,
also spoke at this event that featured
sustainable innovations in the developing world
that can be replicated and even adopted.
Workshop on "Social Business",
organized by Grameen Creative Lab was also a
part of the agenda. "Social Business" is a
revolutionary concept, which apart from being
profitable, is also helpful in alleviating
poverty, equitable distribution of wealth, value
addition and empowering all stake holders of the
business.
Dr Zaki invited Prof Younus and
Mr Hans Reitz, the CEO of Grameen Creative Lab,
to conduct a workshop on Social Business in
Pakistan for representatives of NGOs, CSR
professionals, philanthropists, etc.; which they
graciously accepted.
Healthcare leaders from around
the world were present at the congress and they
shared the challenges and deliberated about
their solutions |
