Dosage:
Adt: 200-400mg in two divided doses.Children:6-12mg/kg/day
in two divided doses
Precautions:
Administer cephalosporins cautiously
to penicillin sensitive patients
as there may be a partial crossalergenicity
between the two.Cephalosporin may
be nephrotoxic.Inflammatory reactions
to parentral cephalosporins are
common.Inject preparations for
IM administration deep into the
musculature
AdverseEffects:
Gl disturbances (nausea,
vomiting, diorrhoea) and hypersensitivity
phenomena. Eosinophilia, transient
neutropenia, leukopenia,
thrombocytopenia.
Elevated SOPT and SGPT. Mild elevation
in BUN. Headache, dizziness and
paresthesia. Fever and dyspnea
Indication:
Infactions or respiratory tract,
urinary tract, skin and soft tissue,
biliary caused by sensitive organisms
ContraIndication:
Hypersensitivity to cephalosporins
or releated antibiotics
