Career
planning workshop for House Officers held at
DUHS
Karachi: A workshop on the topic of "How to
plan a career in medicine?" was organized at
Professional Development Centre (PDC) of Dow
University of Health Sciences. This workshop was
a part of CareerMed series being held under the
aegis of Clinical Excellence & Leadership
Program (CELP) of Macter.
CareerMed program is intended to help
doctors in gaining greater self-insights and let
them plan their career effectively by using the
world renowned personality assessment tool -
"Myers Briggs Type Indicator" (MBTI).
A number of CareerMed workshops for doctors
and medical students have already been conducted
in various cities including Karachi, Lahore,
Sahiwal, Jehlum, Gujranwala, Abbotabad,
Rawalpindi and Hyderabad.
Dr Qamarul Hassan, Human Development
Consultant & MBTI Certified Practitioner,
conducted the workshop and provided valuable
insights for selection of medical specialties
and sub-specialties depending upon individual
personality types of the participants. He also

Dr Zakiuddin Ahmed, Medical Director -
Macter, highlighting the objectives of CELP,
stated that it is based on a benevolent intent
to deliver value to the patients who are the
ultimate beneficiary of the tripartite
relationship that exists between patients,
doctors and pharmaceutical industry.
Dr Omar Ahsan, Deputy Director - PDC,
speaking at the occasion, appreciated the
initiative of CareerMed program.
