Dosage: Adt: 75mg daily with or without
food Non-ST segment elevation
acute coronary syndrome:
300mg loading dose follwoed
by 75mg daily given in combination
with 75-100mg aspirin daily.
Children:Not rec
Precautions: Renal impairment , moderate hapatic
impairment, surgery risk of bleeding
and blood dyscrasias; Perform blood
counts promptly if suspected and
when used with other drugs or conditions
that affect bleeding. Warn patients
to report unusual bleeding
AdverseEffects: Bleeding episodes, Gl upset, skin
reactions Nervous system, hepatic
billary or haematological disorders.
Rarely, thrombotic thromboccytopeni
purpura
Indication: Prevention of atherothrombolic
events in patients suffering from
myocardial in farction (from a
few days until less than 35 days)ischaemic
stroke (from day 7 until less than
8 months) or established peripheral
artery disease in combination with
aspirin in non-ST segment elevation
acute coronary syndrome (unstable
angina or non-Q-Wave MI
ContraIndication: Severe hapatic impaiment , acute
bleeding such as peptic ulcer or
intracranial haeorrhage. Do not
initiate therapy within first few
days after MI. PTCA (stenting).
CABG acute ischaemic stroke of
less than 7 days. Pregnancy, lactation
