MBTI great tool to unleash human potential: Dr Qamar ul Hassan

KARACHI: Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) provides better understanding of self and others and could be an effective tool for self-actualization and optimal utilization of human potential, said Dr Qamarul Hassan, Human Development Consultant & Certified MBTI Practitioner. He was addressing a media workshop on the topic of Effective Journalism Using MBTI organized by Macter Pharma in association with Association of Health Journalists of Pakistan (AHJP) & Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS).

This outstanding tool, though very popular in the developed world, is scarcely known in our country; said Dr Qamar. He stressed the need for promoting this effective means of personality assessment and development which has wide spread applications. The speaker was of the view that this approach could be very helpful for students in their career selection, and appreciated Macter for its CareerMed program which is aimed at career counseling of medical students and doctors through MBTI.

He provided valuable tips and insights to the journalists based on this tool.

Dr Zakiuddin Ahmed, Medical Director- Macter, highlighting the objectives of Clinical Excellence & Leadership Program (CELP) & CareerMed, stated that these programs were devised with the intent of creating a value-added partnership with all the stakeholders involved in healthcare delivery for delivering ultimate benefit to the patients and the society as a whole.

Speaking at the occasion, AHJP President Mr Tufail Ahmed said that capacity building programs for journalists should be carried out regularly on a similar pattern as Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
