Macter’s Clinical Research Centre inaugurated at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital
KARACHI – CELP Clinical Research Centre (CRC) was inaugurated at Medical Unit III of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) here on Thursday. The centre is established under the aegis of Clinical Excellence and Leadership Program (CELP) of Macter International, according to a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the Medical Unit III and Macter in April 2008. The centre is aimed to promote clinical research, as the country lags behind in this area. Initially, retrospective data of the Medical Unit III will be collected, analyzed and published. Prospective studies in the areas of respiratory and heart diseases would be conducted by the centre as well. Head of the Department, Dr Saleemullah, speaking at the inaugural ceremony stated that the country lags behind in clinical research and data of the local patients is not available. He appreciated the Macter’s efforts to promote clinical research.
